I go in Tuesday to have a flattened disk pulled, a new disk put in and then four screws and two rods attached. Gee, I've only been dealing with this for over ten years but the neuropathy is getting troubling enough that it's time to act. The doc is telling me at least six months of no riding. I'm not quite buying it - ok, maybe five/five and a half.

I'd like to hear from other riders who have had similar back surgery, not only how things turned out, but also how it affected their riding and how fast they were able to get back to riding.

Thanks.

I've had both back surgery and rotator cuff surgery at about the same time as friends of mine had the same or similar surgeries. I followed the doctor's orders exactly as instructed and they rushed it. I didn't have any issues and they had complications that required more surgery or they had residual effects. DON'T RUSH IT.
