[attachment=2:2irw0m2g]65658_592401864111188_525564009_n.jpg[/attachment:2irw0m2g]This was a Rally to help Hurricane Sandy victims who were devastated by the storm and held on May 18th. A 66 mile run from Keyport NJ to Atlantic Beach. If raising money for folks is this much fun...count me in every time. There were about 1800 bikes there that stretched out about 3 miles long with lawmen closing off exits and intersections for the rolling procession. Fairly well organized but there was a cool mistake. The lead bikes went the wrong way on the highway and realized it an exit later. They doubled back to meet up with our section, who had the presence of mind to enter the highway in the right direction. As we were entering our blocked off lane two by two, there came the other group, already on the highway. So now we had 2 lanes and were four by four in staggered files. It was the highlight of the day with so many grumbling engines in close formation. It reminded me of an old flick called Genghis Khan starring Yul Brenner. When they went off to battle at the end of the movie they started out with about ten guys and the towns they passed came out to join them until there tens of thousands of them. Anyway, the late comers merged seamlessly into our lane and we continued.
I was the only Burgman there and only one of two scooters, the other being a silverwing. At the final destination I lit out before any heavy drinking started and called it a great day. The only thing that I could not do that the other bikes could was ROOOAAARRR! A bunch of money was raised for those who really need it and will be distributed by Gov Christies wife. She a good egg and will do the right thing.

Looks and sounds like a great ride for a great cause!
Nothing like the smell of cruisers in your lungs.
I am so looking forward to our annual Memorial Day ride and the smell of 800 cruisers again...and our scooters. 8)

You are right, nothing like the smell of cruisers but also the noise of cruisers.
We love riding our scooter in the "ride of the patriots" as a warm up ride before the Rolling Thunder ride in DC on the Sunday before Memorial Day.
Ear protection is a must for the Rolling Thunder ride.
Ride safe.

Wow, really cool homepage.
and the most professional group ride you'll ever do!
A great group of bikers, the American Legion Riders are.
Chick-fil-a biscuits to start and BBQ, raffle, live music, and a dance to finish it off.
