My dad just purchased a burgman 400 off of craiglist yesterday and has me trying to find certain parts that did not come with it, as the previous owner lost them somewhere. The first is on the right side of the bike, right above the stand. there doesnt seem to be any clips of screws and there may not even be a piece that is supposed to go there... The second is on the rear portion of the bike right behind the seat. This looks to be a piece that just clips onto the scooter, I am just having trouble locating it online. Also, he wants me to install speakers onto the bike and was wondering if any of you did a similar project on your burgman... Any help would make my job a lot easier.
Thanks

The part missing in the first picture is a push pin clip, an M8 size if I remember right.

The piece missing in the second picture is the rear pillion rider handle cover. Looking at the fiche I don't see that part listed separate unless it is sold with item 9 on this fiche which is the black colored piece right above it that also is called the rear pillion rider handle cover.

On second though I think it might be part number 11 on that fiche and the drawing just makes it look funny. My "S" model does not have the backrest but looking at how the piece attaches in the shop manual illustration the part number 11 looks about right.

The squarish opening is intended to be that way...
that's a place for you to be able run a cable or chain through,
around the lower frame member, for security purposes.

I happen to own a 2006 400 and that part on the backrest is usually removed when you put a tail box on the bike. Then it is drilled out and put back on. If I am correct that is item #9 . There are 2 places to get good prices on the replacement parts. One has already been mentioned: RonAyers.com
The other is Bikebandit.com

You should see what you need at either of these sites because they use the same micro fiche. Keep in mind that the Burgman uses very few screws but instead uses what I think they call clips. They are push in plastic 'screws', for lack of a better word. There seem to be 2 or 3 different sizes. Good luck.

After looking closely at your picture, I think that it is # 9 that you want. Sorry. There are 2 panels that are on the backrest, an upper and a lower. You need the lower one along with the clips that hold it in. You will need to order 2 of them (09409-06314-5PK).

www.partzilla.com is the cheapest of any of the suppliers there always a few $ cheaper I've gone to roneyers cheap cycle parts and other but partzilla always beats there competitors prices plus the way there system is set up you get a part it will automatically select how many you need for that item most of the other places you have to keep adding so if it calls for 4 then it ads those 4..items I highly recommend them and I'm here to tell you I have purchased plenty from them

Wèll I have to say that I have used all of them except Babbits, and looking up that part just now I have to say that Babbits is the cheapest. Good call! I have added it to my tablet bookmarks for quick access.
