For 6 weeks or so I have been noticing that the engine was not cranking as brightly as it should in the morning--checked the cranking voltage yesterday and found it falling below 10V--time for a new battery. So I picked up an Autozone MagnaPower AGM (made by East Penn) for $76.99 locally this morning; and was quite surprised to find that the "old" battery was the original stock unit, dated 02/2003--9 years, 8 months; that's not too bad... Not as good as the Panasonic AGM in my '90 Miata that survived 13 years, but not too shabby...

I just replaced my 2005 OEM battery and now use it as a trolling battery for my kayak. :D
You gotta love those older batteries.

Mine was weak, it could not hold 70A (1/2 the CCA rating) for even 3 or 4 seconds without the voltage falling to under 10V (that explains the sluggish starting); I turned it in for the $10 core charge.

The Deka battery is about 5/8" taller than the OEM battery and weighs 0.5 lb more, however it fit with no issues and has a 190A CCA rating...
