I haven't removed the seat but for what it worth here is what the service manual on page 9-13 says for seat removal.

Lift the seat up
Remove the tool set
Remove the battery cover
Remove the battery
Disconect the trunk light coupler
Disconnect the seat damper
Remove the seat by removing the nuts at the seat hinge
