But the Burgman AN650Ex is my 2nd one - I owned the K3 before and I made about 13000 Kilometer in the last year.

Trip through Germany

...by the way:

Germany isn´t that big, nor that large at all. Only about 900km x 550km.

You can make about 100 kilometers per hour on the autobahn. That means you could theoreticaly cross Germany from the very north to Munich in the south in about 9hrs.

But you shouldn´t do that, cause the north (North-Sea, East-Sea, Hamburg, the 2000-year old Lueneburg with its Luebeburger heath, Rostock, Island of RUEGEN, Heringsdorf) has many places of intrest, the east (Berlin, Brandenburg) is a must! The center Koeln, Duesseldorf is, where the Karneval comes from (and dammned good Beer) plus Wiesbaden (main USA-military hospital, oldest Casino in Germany) and the city of Mainz (with the famous ALTSTADT and its Dome - next to the lovely River Rhein (Lorelei)
This is a trip you should make with the Burgman: From Duesseldorf to Mainz, along the river Rhein with its old castles left and right!!
Than the south with HEIDELBERG (Goethe made his studys here), Stuttgart and its famous food. You pass by the famous castle of NEUSCHWANSTEIN (I´ve never been there, too many japanese..) and enter the region of Munich.
You see, no train transportation necessary.
And - don´t worry, 7 out of 10 people speaks English in Germany!!
Regards
Mike

MichaelMcMike,
Youre making my wife homesick. She is from Mainz -Kastel. I was stationed at Weisbaden Air Base 89-91. I went to Desert Storm from there. All of the places you mention, me and my wife have been to most of them. I would kill to take my scoot to Germany and tour around.
Welcome to the Forum.

Scoot around Germany

Hi Brian,

so just put the scooter as cargo in a plane - and do what your are dreaming of.
Don´t kill anything/anyone...

Many Germans do that the other way by shipping the Harley to Newark or Chicago to make the summer vaccation- trip through the USA.
Why not vice versa?
By the way: I´m the admin of http://www.AN650.de

Beste Gruesse an das Meenzer Maedsche  (regards to your wife!)
Mike

@LARS:
You came through the plan of the car-train of our BAHN AG?
Its hard to understand, but finally I found out, that it isn´t cheap to use that kind of transportation...
However, I wish you and your sozia a pleasant trip! Enjoy at the evening the good German Beer, the "Bratwurst vom Rost" or, even better, the CURRYWURST and don´t miss the SCHWARZWALD. Here you must buy a Cocoo-clock (do you write it that way? In German it is: Kuckucksuhr) direkt from the manifacture.

All the best
MIke

Love Deutschland

Hi Mike & Mike,
This is Robert and I live in SoCal.
I fly with the USAF reserves to Ramstein AB and sometimes Rhein Mein, what's left there. Can't bring a scoot on the C5 but would like to rent one. My wife says that I have a terminal case of AUTOBAHN-ITUS as I cannot keep the car under 100 when I first return home. It doesn't even seem that I'm moving when the speedo is 160K. I use my cruse control so I don't get speeding tickets from the CHP. I was in Signella NAS, Sicily last spring and discovered the Maxi Scooter concept. I had a Royal Enfield and BMW R75 in the '80's but I have a 28" inseam and the manufacturers started raising the saddle height. While there I rode a Vespa, ho hum, but traided up to a Piaggio X9 with a 500cc engine. WOW. When I returned to the USofA I began looking for a maxiscooter. I haven't purchased anything yet, but have also looked at Aprilia Atlantic 500cc along with the Burger. I'd like ABS and maybe Suzuki will import the Executive.
Here's hoping.

Through Germany

Mike if we go through Germany are there any big suzuki dealerships you know about? We only have small ones over here in Norway and they have little or no acessories. The prices over here are also much more expencive. I bargind hard on my burg 650 and ended up paying 13 000$
thanks 8)
