I don't have any big mile exciting trip for you guys, but I did go on a trip none the less.
Last minute check on the weather and it was a go, so I threw on my Nelson Riggs saddle bags, loaded up and took off. I left from nearby Green Bay Wi, traveled north down a few country north woods roads up to the top of the state line by Hurley Wi/IronWood Mi. From there I took US 2 West to Duluth/Superior where I stopped by the water for a bit to stretch, then it was back on through 5:30pm traffic in town which is waaaay too much stress and confusion for me, but I just followed the "2 East" signs and made it to Proctor Mn which from there I rode the last 45 min leg to a nice little town (500 people) of FloodWood Mn. My fiance's hometown. Yes, I actually went to see my future mother in law and family without my fiancé, lol, (she had to work). Her sister set me up for the night in her nice big camper I had all to myself. So I ate a little bit, cleaned my windshield, did a quick look over, and headed to 'moms' across town for a Bon fire. I slept like a rock that night and got cleaned up in the morning and headed right back home. 714 miles (total) Safe and sound. Between the saddle bags hanging out, a head wind, and a tall windshield, my gas mileage wasn't stellar, maybe around 56mpg, but it just performed like a champion! Even in a few 80 mph zones, no problems. I'm very picky and I tell ya', I really, really like this bike! Quiet, smooth, and simple.
Oh ya, 95% biker waves from a lot of bike traffic I'm guessing we're heading to Sturgis.
There's my story and I'm stickin to it.
Mike.
