I started a new topic under "Sightings". It does not show up when I click on "New Posts". When I clicked on "Sightings", it was there, as were others that I don't remember ever seeing under "New Posts".
Post not showing under "New Posts"

Think of new posts as "Posts I haven't seen before"
Once opened, posts are no longer new and will not display in the new posts list (I guess threads you start are considered implicitly opened upon creation). To see a comprehensive list of recently posted threads, use Quick Links drop down on the menu bar and select "Today's posts"
