This thing is driving me nuts. I removed the wheel and had a new tire mounted by a local mom & pop shop. I figured that following the YT video to remove the wheel was easy enough, then replacing it shouldn't be anymore difficult. WRONG!!! I've lubed it thoroughly, lifted it into place, wiggled, shook, tapped with mallet, prayed for divine assistance; removed wheel from bike, repeated same process a second time and still can't get the wheel to mate up to the hub (or drive housing). See pic. That's about a 3/16'' distance that I can't seem to close and I can't tell why the wheel and hub are being held apart. Any suggestions?

check there isnt anything on the shaft OR the inside of the wheel. something is off. no spacer in there by mistake? is there any damage to the teeth on the shaft? is it the correct wheel they gave you back?

sometimes things are so simple and its like asking where the hek are my glasses when theyre sitting on your head.
