Plastic Panel Repair

I know we have discussed this in a few other threads.

I just though it may be helpful if we marshall all our accumulated knowledge, intelligence (I use that in the broadest rather than the personal sense) and experience in this one thread on 'stuff' that works well on Burger plastic (BP).

I have been lucky so far, but know it is only a case of 'when rather than if' -that I will need to carry out a salvage repair rather than gouge myself for a dealer supplied part.

I am a great fan of JB weld and have used it where standard Araldite type products just do not cut it. However, IIRC - JB is apparently not cutting it as a permanent repair with BP.

I found this product on a UK website (and it certainly is very expensive!!). Obviously I have never used it and wonder if anyone on this forum knows of it. I will post on UK forums too to see if there is successful experience with it on BP. Linky

Please add to this thread products and experience with BP repair.

We can distill the results into a 'How To' idc. :)

Expensive as that may be, I suspect body panels are more so. Looks good, if it works as indicated. Waiting for a review.

That should work Norman, not that expensive, what is a pound worth in us$. Dyna Weld would be more than that as it is 2 large tubes.

At the time of my post £1(Sterling) = $1.80 (US) = $2.32 (Can) :)

Their smallest kit is £10.49, $18.88(US),$24.34(Can)

Cheers Dan, that is a useful resource, I note Plastex but the link to Eastwoods doe not turn it up.

But in my 'travels' this seems to be a cheap US source of Plastex

It appears Eastwood have gone to a new product: Plastifix

Great link - That looks the same product (down to the moulding bar) just with a different name.

Thanks for the link - Bill may pop in and shorten it!
