Daris has the best idea, I fitted a Givi 47ltr monokey top box with a passenger back rest (also added the additional rack to the lid) - not a cheap solution but it has added more storage, is easy to remove if not needed when solo and gets the thumbs up when wife is passenger.

Hello Sir, these are the passenger backrests on my Givi Maxia 56.
In addition to the Givi backrest at the top, I built another lower one (all with recycled material) to be more comfortable in the lumbar area.
When the lid opens, the backrest flexes in half allowing it to fully open.
