ok now it works! sorry..maybe the site was down earlier or maybe it was just my computer.. anyways.. i'm still trying to find the lift support for a burgman..because if i try to just select suzuki on the vehicle selection on there it only brings up suzuki cars and not any scooters ect.. do i need to just take measurements of the lift support and then contact the customer service on that website??

Re: OKAY I KNOW IF YOU OWN A BURGMAN 400 THEN YOU CAN HELP

Just call them on the 800 line (866 something)...
Lou was very patient in helping me with a solution.
After explaining my issues..backrest,Alaska sheepskin cover...
all added weight...he sent me 3 lift cylinders to try,
after I had sent him measurements as to the distance
between mounting points with the seat closed...that was
the tricky part. I tried each cylinder, kept the one that
worked best, & returned the others, along with the payment.
He assured me that they would be making a note in their
computer system of which cylinder type...with the proper ends..
that worked for Burgman 400's....I think he has helped
someone else work out the details for the 650's too.
So....someone there should be able to help you on the phone.

Re: OKAY I KNOW IF YOU OWN A BURGMAN 400 THEN YOU CAN HELP

Chet Benson has the cure that really works even with the Utopia backrest I have installed. It is a 2006 Jeep hood damper available from Autozone ( part number E95327) for under $13.00. He has great instructions on how to install it. I love that my seat now pops right up and stays up. We also made the same modifications to a friends Burgman 400 and his works just as well as mine. Great!! I do not know how to post links but simple search for either Chet Benson or seat damper rods

I fixed the one on my 2009 with a low priced one from Auto Zone. Works great. And only about $15. It had to be modified on the threaded end to work. I am not able to locate the old posts I do not have the same username/password to get on the site sorry.

Damper for Seat on AN400K5 Burgman 400 2005

Auto Zone sells the Mighty Lift #D95532 damper. It's a 1/2" longer. You must remove the end connections on the stock damper and on the D95532. Drill 6mm hole and tap 6mm into the stock damper ends and install them onto the D95532. It works really much better than the stock damper and lifts the seat with the Airhawk cushion and the Utopia backreat.
