Hello
I own a 2011 burgman 400. Bought it new. I enjoy my burgy alot.
Recently i've noticed that it is using a bit of oil on long trips. It's not using a lot, but it is consuming oil. It uses about 4 ounces every 2000 miles. It just started this within the last 4000 miles. I have 13000 miles on it. I switched to a K&N air filter about 3500 miles ago. Has any one else had this problem. Any advice on this issue is greatly appreciated.

4 ozs in 2000 miles is not a problem.

4ozs is not much and not really a problem. However, what oil are you using and what grade/weight? Make sure the engine breather pipe is clear of any kinks and is not partially blocked. If that happens gas pressure builds in the crankcase and can cause the engine to use some oil. Also, make sure you don't have any minor oil leaks from the oil filter area, sump plug or the cam box cover on top of the cylinder head. I've known that to happen and cause the level to drop just a little. It may only leak when you are riding.
