Yes -- mine is on all the time (displayus words under the mileometer)

I never mess with it. I jJust write down when I did it last. And sett he one tripometer back to ZERO after a change.

It's very easy to reset, I did mine today.
My bike had its first service last week, and because I had only done 585 miles the oil change had not yet come on.
So today after clocking over 600 miles I reset the warning.
Press and hold the select button while turning on the ignition.
The oil change warning flashes 3 times and then goes out.
You can also set the interval when you want the light to come on again.
There is an excellent youtube video showing how it's done :)

As I remember, you have to make sure the kickstand is up when you reset it. Also, many use the "B" odometer to keep track of the miles since last changed. Nice to know when you're gonna need it again.

If you adhere to the suggested schedule you will change the oil at .6, 4, 7.5, 11, 14.5, 18, 21.5, 25, 28.5, 32, 35.5, 39, etc. ( x1000 miles) replacing the filter at the .5 mileages. In the grand scheme, not hard to track.

Wilythek, just curious why you no longer darkside. Could you tell us?

I've thought about it, especially after my last rear only lasted 4.5k. But the handling and insurance coverage issues bother me.
