After my 600 miles service, my dealer did not reset my oil change indicator. I whipped out my manual to re-set it myself (a lot easier than taking it back to the shop) and, while I'm pretty sure I have followed all the instructions, I simply cannot get the indicator to reset - in fact, I can't even get to the mode that you use to reset it.

What am I doing wrong?

The manual is not very well written. There are actually two different proceedures being described; one for acknowledging that the oil change has been done, and one for changing the interval between notifications (factory preset at 3500 miles).

The thread NormanB linked to does indeed show the proper way to rest the indicator; much simpler than the manual makes it out to be.
