Have you received the manual yet, and if so, are you pleased w/ the quality? For the price, I'd be willing to take a chance. Not sure why he is slamming Haynes service manuals - had one for one of my motorcycles and thought that it was a great source of information.

Thanks!

It's a little thicker than factory, but nice quality, photos are usable unlike the scanned one for '03's floating around. I'm happy with it. Mine covers '03-'09.

I bought and received a manual for my 400 from sell.com and am very pleased with it. It's an an exact copy of the official Suzuki manual and even includes all the updates for 2010 thru 2013.

I think the Haynes manual is a British publication which should be fine but will have the british slang for different parts of the bike and devotes a lot to the MOT test. I have a British Haynes manual for a SAAB so I would assume the Burgman would be similar to the points I made.

Haynes manuals were ok up to the mid-80's, then they went on an ever-continuing decline, with tiny dark monochrome pictures looking like a vintage Xerox copy of a newspaper picture.

The phrase: "leave it to the authorized dealer" is also much to common in them.

On cars, they go into details about measuring crankshaft journals (who ever does that anymore?) and skip lightly over removing brittle plastic interior parts to get to stuff like A/C temperature sensors, which is an obvious DIY-project saving you $$$, since there's a lot of labor involved to change a relatively cheap part.

Wiring diagrams are redrawn in their own proprietary format, with many items left out (leave it to the dealer)

Haynes manuals in short:
Worthless pictures where line drawings would show you what to do.
Bias towards engine rebuilding, which no-one does anymore.
Severely lacking electronics troubleshooting information
Some complicated items randomly deemed as "to difficult for the home mechanic"

Definitely not worth their price if anything else is available.

http://www.partspitstop.com/ is the cheapest place I've found to get Suzuki service manuals.
I just checked that site, and I am unable to locate any Suzuki service manuals. Can you provide a direct link?
Looks like you already ordered yours, but for anyone else looking, I get the part number from somewhere else and do a search on their website. 2012 650 service manual 99500-36116-03E is $62.90. Their shipping is a little higher than other sites, but cost + shipping is the lowest regular price I've found.

Be aware that here in the US Suzuki has been using the same part number (with updates) since 2009 so as long as it's bought new (current printing) and not used it should contain the latest model updates.

Ordered the manual from Sell.com last Thursday and it arrived today - great bang for the buck. Thanks again for the heads-up on this manual!

Thanks for the link. I ordered one myself and got it yesterday. It looks to me like it is a high quality photocopy of the original book, although I am no expert on such things and could be mistaken. Either way, it is definitely good enough for my needs and I am very glad you posted the link.
