Can someone help me by answering a very simple question?

I was just adjusting my rear shocks and noticed that the bottom bolt does not have a securing nut.
I have checked the parts diagram and it appears no nut is specified to be fitted.

I have never noticed this before - can someone confirm the truth?

There are no nuts on the fitting, the threaded fork end is designed that way.

Looks like the shock has the nut welded on and thats what the lower bolt threads into. Edit that, they punch out the metal and thread it for the bolt, no nut.

Mine is as the others say. Punched and threaded but on the bolt head side there is a lock washer to keep the bolt from loosening.
