Not that I'm in the market for a new 650 - just purchased a new 400 - but I was checking out some dealers in the country just for the fun of it and came across this one in FL that has this ominous notice on a 2012 650 ad: "NO 2013's COMING". This may have been their way of trying to convince procrastinators to buy a 2012 instead of waiting but maybe they do know something.

Marketing hype. Like Cherie said, MAYBE a dealer that lost its contract with Suzuki and is trying to sell floor stock before its seized by Suzuki.

ok, 400 2013 650's coming to the us, to be released next month for those who put deposits on them, 2013 400's on the floor at my local stealership now and 2012 650's for 9000

I'm not too happy about buying a bike that there will only be 400 of in country as that means spare parts will be rare parts, and as the 13 is a new version and prior year parts may not work, I might just get a habbayususa and a uhaul trailer hooked behind it

This reminds me of the early 80s when there were 3-4 year old bikes sitting on dealer floors. The problem was the importers kept feeding new models to the market with those older bikes sitting around. I remember being offered an 81 Yamaha XS-650 twin for a ridiculous low price - $1500 IIRC. I ended up with an 81 750 triple for a few hundred more. That was in 1985. It was a great time to be buying a new motorcycle if you didn't mind a bike a few years old - and I didn't. The 750 came with a one year warranty - same as the new models. I rode that bike for quite a few years and many trouble-free miles.

According to an article about Suzuki closing dealerships:

http://blog.motorcycle.com/2013/03/21/m ... p-network/

PowersportsBusiness reports American Suzuki plans to reduce its current 930-member U.S. powersports dealer network by 100-200 as part of its Chapter 11 reorganization

That would mean that only about half the dealers would even get a 650?

Was that 400 number for the entire year or just the initial installment with more to come?
