Hi to everyone. Yesterday I brought home my new (though somewhat used by a guy who's going to a 650) AN400, model of ought-three. I live in SF east bay area, am new to two-wheel motive power. My choice was reinforced mightily by the comments & camaraderie on this forum. Good stuff. My immediate non-Burgman hobbies are home coffee roasting and Premiere Pro video editing.... An initial query here -- anybody know if the Givi windshield for the 650 will also fit the 400?

Welcome to the BurgmanUSA forums james_eric. Glad to have you join us.

Congratulations on the 'Pre-Loved' Burgman 400 purchase. No ... the 650 shield will not fit the 400. Givi does make a specific replacement for the Burgman 400 though.

Hi James

Welcome to the forum :hello2: and congratulations on your svelte purchase - how does the 400 cope with 'them thar hills'?

As has been said, there is no way the screens are interchangeable between svelte and lardy. Do a search on here and you will see what your options are?. The Givi is a fine screen but if you are 6 foot or more is still a couple of inches short for optimum. The ideal height is so your eyeline is at the top of the screen.

Pro video editing - any tips for the non pro? I am about to embark on a major project this year to convert and edit home movies 90% VHS 10% digital so that I can burn to DVD. I suppose I have about 200 hours raw footage, hopefully editing will see this reduced to the 20 hour mark. (Eat your heart out Lord of the Rings!!). We have a Cafe section for these sort of non scooter discussions and I would be grateful for any advice you may offer. :)

Greetings and welcome to the forum. I think you will be thoroughly pleased with the 400 as you get more comfortable on it and your riding skills improve. I suggest you look into taking an MSF course. It will bring you up to speed in the safe use of your new ride.

As stated above the GIVI works well; I'm 5'' 10' and had to cut about 2 or more inches off to get it too eye level. Some of my friends like to look thru theirs. It does reduce the air flow consideralble and you will likely want to put the OEM back on for summer use.

I prefer to use Final Cut Pro, much better than Premiere in my opinion...

"Final Cut Pro..."

It's a mac/pc thing, methinks. Adobe ended the mac version when offering Pro, tacitly acknowledging FCP's following. I have heard others shout the praises of both, at the expense the other, of course. I'm not a member of any particular mad monk's club. But I use a PC and need to go with what I have.
