Never be afraid to play with the seat.
As I have done http://burgmanusa.com/gallery/Seat-Mods, I still plan to do more. Go to the photos and search for "Seat", there have been several options and soutions. Interisting you added 2" to the back, I had to reduce 1" in the back because the passenger felt like she was sliding foward. I did not modify the passenger backrest, which may have helped.
