Should work OK. The cheapies use basically the same (AGM) tech if ya get the right one, you just seem to get a few more returns for QC issues. I suspect the vast majority work just fine.
I pick up dry YUASA and use a tender, but mostly since I don't like hassling extra returns and battery replacement...I know how my luck runs. On a related topic...batteries sometimes make a real cool popping noise when they short...

I'm going to have to retract my statement.

I just had to replace my Yuasa after only 18 months. The last one only lasted 18 months as well. Thought I was buying a great battery, but we'll see. I bought a cheapo this time and I'll check back in 18 months. But I bet it lasts longer.

The right approach would be to get a non activated battery and acid container in the kit. Whenever time comes, the container is emptied into the battery and only then the latter begins its life. Thus one knows for sure about its state from that time on.
