Unfortunately, RAM stopped making GPS holders. You cannot install a new GPS model unless it's a motorcycle GPS like Rider or Zumo. 4.3" Zumo costs now $329. Significantly less than before. But from my experience, a phone is sufficient most of the time. For as long as a phone app allows you to import a pre-planned route in GPX format. The best for Android is probably TomTom app. The best designed app for iPhone is Scenic. It's currently using OpenStreetMaps which are not as good as TomTom or HERE maps. The new version of Scenic, due in late summer, will be using HERE maps. This will probably make it THE best phone navigation app on the market. Meanwhile, if yo have an iPhone and want to ride a pre-planned route, free Harley-Davidson app is an option.

Of course, if you are not riding a pre-planned route, Apple Maps are more than sufficient. They are slightly better than Google Maps in direct sunlight due to using white text on black background. Besides, they use less than 1MB of data per 10 minutes. Riding 6 hours a day for 5 days will cost you just 180MB of data.
