a name for the 650, "Silver Streak" seems a little trite, not sure anyone would understand "Da Bomber" unless they're from the NYC area.

So I have decided to have a contest, the winner of which will be getting a box of my favorite cigars or a $25 gift card to Chili's, Friday's, or something like that (winner's choice). Being as how it's my bike I will be the sole judge and all decisions are final. That's not to say that I won't listen to suggestions from the gallery, but the final decision is in my hands.

Bearing in mind that my truck is the "Black Beast" (describing her most adequately) and knowing already that I have a slightly skewed sense of humor, get to thinking and post your suggestions here in this thread (and only in this thread, please).

This is not being sanctioned by the administrator or owner(s) of this message board and they are not liable for anything in relation to this contest in any way. This is my gig, and I thought it might be fun to give it a try, and get to know some of the great folks here on this board.

If The board admin(s) object and request or require that I terminate this thread, I will be most happy to do so, but I think this could be fun!

Thanks in advance,

My scooter makes me happy no matter what, and is good looking to me, so how about a woman's name.

You could go with Ginger, or Yvonne, or perhaps Amber or Andrea.

Well, come to think of it, it is silver and scootering is a habit.

I got it!!

Mother Teresa...

I am awaiting my card...

Presta Gin

Presta means quick or Hurry(spanish)
Gin means silver.(japanese)
(they came from a baby name site)
Gin could be converted to Ginny or Gina.

Good luck with your name hunt!

Upon think on it, and i still like Mercury.. I'm a huge fan of double-entendres (a word/phrase with more than one meaning) I was thinking of:

S'Merc (Silver Mercury/Quick Silver)

(and a very common facial expression for Burgman riders - especially 'off the line' [Smirk]) :D

And all good names (like dog names) should be monosyllabic, not only for the ease of use but some folks aren't proficient with more than one syllable. ;)

You guys & gals crack me up!

There are some fine suggestions here, but I'd like to keep it going for a while longer. I can already tell that I'm gonna have a tough decision to make soon.

And BTW Pete, that "old" crack will get you nowhere fast (so there, nyah!).

I'm only 45, my favorite caliber (hey, I had to find something to upbeat about getting older!).

Name Game

I surprised I haven't seen my choice for a Burgman - if and when I get one....

"A Bike named Sue (zuki)" and it's the Cash that's holding me up. :)

Or, if you're into something more adventurous ... "Shadowfax" from The Lord of the Rings.

I don't know about you, but the sound of the Burgman to me is music... sweet sweet music.
