Hey guys fyi, The new oem oil filter part number changed to 16510-07J00. One other thing too. . . The 65-67 mm filter wrenches won't fit it. If anyone has a list of non oem filters that fit the 650 can you direct me to it or post it.

Thanks.

Ok from what I've found out, if you have a 2013+ 650, or, if your OEM oil filter part number is 16510-07J00, it will take a 68 mm wrench to fit it. The 65-67mm wrenches won't do it. I hope this helps.

It look like Suzuki change to 16510-07J00 on 2011 and after 650 Burgie.

10.99 ea. @ partzilla

http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/suzuki/SP-16510-07J00.html

It seem this is new oil filter # 16510-07J00 for most all Suzuki bike now, it replacing part # 16510-03G00-X07

Wonder if previous # 16510-03G00-X07 still can be use as pretty sure it still fit.

Fram cross reference for new filter 16510-07J00 = # PH6018

$8.88 at Walmart http://www.walmart.com/ip/Fram-Motorcycle-Filter-PH6018/16879146

Am more convince than ever Suzuki have oil filter supplier change which bring new part #.

Me go to Fram and Wix web site and perform cross reference for both Suzuki oil filter part # and get this info :

FRAM

1651003G00X07 .....= Fram PH6018

1651007J00 ............= Fram PH6018

WIX

1651007J00.......... .SUZUKI........ SZI........ 51359

1651003G00X07.... SUZUKI ........SZI........ 51359

Presently believe that 1651003G00X07 can be use on 2013-14 and aftermarket filter also such as EMGO 10-55660, Hi-Flo 138, Wix 51359, Fram PH 6018 and many more.

I use Napa Gold 1359 oil filters from a Napa store if you get them on sale they are two for 10.89 and they are probably better than the oem filters.

NAPA Gold 1359 is WIX 51359 repackage.

I just ordered 2 (1 spare) K&N KN-138 oil filters for the 650 from www.mdiperformance.com for $19.95 total shipped.
I love the K&N because of the 17mm nut welded to the top of the filter. Just about any type wrench, including a pair of pliers will work just fine.
I've used nothing but K&N for years with excellent results.

Purolator ML16818 also fits the old 'Burg. I don't really trust Fram anymore, I would stick with Wix, K&N or Purolator if your going to use aftermarket filters.

K&N filter is made by Hi-Flo, but they weld a nut to the Hi-Flo 138, the Hi-Flo 138 cost $3-$4.00 less for same filter rebadge K&N.

EMGO 10-55660 is identical in size to Suzuki OEM, it weight about same, perhap EMGO tiny bit more because EMGO have few more sq. in. of filtration paper, it use same Suzuki oil filter wrench as it also fit perfect. It like Suzuki OEM filter is rebadge EMGO.

LeDude do write up with photo, if both black with no printing can not really tell which one which.

Best price find online for EMGO 10-55660 oil filter = $4.00 each.

Total price for 6 filter include shipping to New-York state = $5.50 each.

Suzuki say oil filter should have 11 psi bypass valve for Suzuki bike engine, ML16818 use 20 PSI bypass valve.

This is one of the more recent filter threads I could find. I have a 2013 AN650 and looking for filter info. This is all good to know.
However, one warning about K&N and that nut on the end... DON'T USE THE NUT TO INSTALL THE FILTER, ONLY TO REMOVE IT. I'm sure some of you at least have heard or read about issues with those filters. Those issues stem from INSTALLING using the nut causing excess strain resulting in failure of the filter at that point. You should really only install a filter by hand and maybe a little more.

I did buy an official Suzuki filter tonight on my way home from work. Pricey! Plan to order a small stock in Wix in the near future.
