G'Day Tom
Welcome mate. Another "mature" aussie here also lol. Sounds like you have had valuable experience out there with quite a few bikes.
I have a 2012 Burger which I bought in August last year. . Due to health probs I have yet to clock up 1,200 k's. but thankfully I'm up and about now. My m/c licence expired way back in the 70's. Annnnd, like and idiot I forgot to renew it...so I'm on my L's again lol. Looking at my licence I just realized that my L's expire on the 4th Aug..eeeK !
So between then and now I have to sit the NSW MOST test. From what I have read its not that easy on a big Burger.
Anyway, welcome again. Where in Aussieland are you at ?

Cheers Steve

Hi to all the Australians on here I live on the gold coast so if any near we can get together for a ride
as for experience I am a retired bike mechanic been in the industry for 40 years ,yes I was 13 when I started working after school for a small bike ,mechanical work shop near me in Redfern Sydney it specialised in Ducati's and guzzies . never really rode a scooter till some 5 years ago bought a 125 for the wife to go to work .I still had that stigmatism about riding scooters were for girls and old folk ,wellbought a new moto guzzie navada for wife 5 weeks ago and returned it as it was terrible week later. The only bike they had was the burgman as a lone bike both her and me rode it for a day eventually fighting over who will ride it so after 2 days I went back and bought it payed $5000 for it with 45000ks one owner and now we still fight over who wants to ride it (we have 6 other bike) so gess what !!!I now am looking for another one ...go figure
