Last year I bought a 400 as first bike (scooter) I had ridden or owned. I now have 1000 miles on the 650 I bought a few months ago. I love riding and am also thinking of gettig a motorcycle. I had a severe rattle and thought I had a problem in second gear--- vibration causing it . Dealer had installed my new taller windshield and it was rattling. Motor seems to vibrate when I throttle hard at about 23 to 33 mph. Is this normal? I am in Wisconsin.

Welcome to the BurgmanUSA forums. Glad to have you join us. I've not heard reports of this issue. I'll let our 650 experts chime in....

Second gear? What means that?

Welcome to the forum. The AN650 engine is very smooth. Not sure exactly what you mean by "vibrate". The ECVT tranny does have a certain feel to it when it locks engine rpm at certain points and continues acceleration via the transmission - but I wouldn't call it vibration. Unless you are overly sensitive, you may have something else loose.

I've not experienced any rattle or vibration in the 14000kms I've put on mine. Take it to the dealer and let them test it.

You seem to think its in 2nd gear ratio. Does this mean the vibration only occurs in manual mode or do you notice it in auto as well. IF you havent tried all the modes then I suggest you do.

Hi Mike

WELCOME to the forum.

I have no experience of the 650, but normally if you 'feel' somethin ain't quite right - then it usually turns out that it isn't.

Your dealer needs to be involved ASAP to sort this out.

I have looked at the membership list and it does not appear that we have an active member in Wisconsin for you to share experience with and get a second opinion. But my knowledge of the geography of the US is at best rudimentary.

What part of Wisconsin are you? There are 5-6 Members from there (here) 1 North , 1 SE, 3 S Central, 1 SW. I will be gone for a week (Road Trip) but will look into it for you.

In the meantime, check all you bolts, (tires and handlebars, etc.). I assume the proper Fluid Changes have been done. I haven't noticed any vibration on mine with 5,600 miles on it, unless your talking about vibration from bumps a rough roads, usually caused by loose bolts, and That is Rare.

Sorry Jim

I missed that!

The format of location isn't univerally applied and that defeated me in my search.

Good news though that help is relatively near for Mike. :)

Hi Mike, glad to see you made it to the forum.

Looks like no one else is having the sort of trouble you are, so I agree that a call on your dealer is in order.

BTW, I still don't know where that 650 review of mine you referred to is. You said "The Suzuki site" and I checked http://www.suzukicycles.com but there's no thread like that there.

If it's still in your history list, could you tell me what the link is? As I mentioned in the e-mail, I just can't recall writing a review or anything else Burgman related anywhere but here.

(Of course, my memory plays tricks on me sometimes. Juggling too many hats. :? )

Brian- I think you still have room in your profile to list 'hat juggling' - sounds a lot safer than your other pursuits
