Saw three Burgmans today!

A silver Burgman 400 heading uptown at Sixth Avenue near Spring in Manhattan.

A silver Burgman 650 parked outside a deli at 10th Avenue near 46th Street in Manhattan.

And a blue Burgman 400 on Park Street in Montclair NJ, near Watchung Plaza.

Reveal yourselves!

So they do ride the Burger in the great city! The impression gained in a few other posts that NY was not entirely suitable (for PTWs).

I also gotta ask these Burgies to REVEAL THEMSELVES and join us for a ride in the next week or so!

By the way I love riding my 650 in Manhattan. Just gotta max out the rear preload if riding two up.

Manhattan

I hit some of the deepest potholes ever while riding in Manhattan. One of them sent me flying out of my seat. Within a millisecond, I was standing straight up on the bike with no idea what had hit me. But dodging taxis is a blast in power mode.

I'm still experimenting with different riding positions but I found that I can prevent bouncing in the seat by pushing back against the butt-rest with my legs and relaxing my arms. This forms kind of a triangular shock absorber that allows the elbows and knees to move with the bike.

Hey Dennis I heard you ran into Joe in Montclair.

You up for joining us for a group ride, maybe the weekend after this one? I am sure we can get a good sized group together.

Oh and if on your journeys you see a black 650 with an orange seat, that's me!

He beeped and I waved from across the plaza.

As long as I don't have to ride directly in front of someone who's name ends in "death".

When I ride in the city which is not much I try to stay on Park Ave as it is the best road way in the city right now, stay off Madison it's the wrost. Joe yes it is a lot of fun trying to dodge the cabs and have kicked few doors.
