George Lewis, Boerne, TX (25 miles north of San Antonio) riding a silver '03 Burgman 650 and a Orange '02 Gold Wing. Belong to the Hill Country Road Riders. This is a group of older, mostly long time riders, who ride each Saturday in the hill country for breakfast or lunch. I am 72 and our youngest is around 50 and the oldest around 78. This is my first scooter since a '52 Cushman. I really enjoy it for my shorter trips, <200 miles, >200, I take the Wing.

George,

Welcome to BurgmanUSA. Not having a Goldwing in my garage, I have done a few 500 mile days on my AN650. It's not so bad. Living in Omaha, NE, I usually have to ride at least one 500 mile day to get to my touring destinations - and it is long, straight, high speed, boring riding. I can't argue that a Goldwing would be more comfortable for that, but the scooter gets the job done. My destinations are usually hilly, curvy terrain, and I love the AN650 for that sort of riding. I do have a 1000cc V-Strom with hard luggage in my garage, and it too would do the long haul better - but I've picked the scooter for every trip so far this season. The main reason is that the machine I want for recreational riding once I arrive at my destination is the AN650.
