i had a bad virus and so had to reload everything and I lost my old Gimp program in the process 
I have now downloaded the NEW version of Gimp and find that it does not allow me to change a picture into jpeg format, which I need to shrink and upload to this Forum. I have googled extensively about this problem and it seems that I am not the only one in this predicament. PLEASE - has anyone got an OLD version of Gimp that he would pm to me? Here's hoping! Ken
