Hello all,

I just joined from the US VI. I have a 2008 400, stock except I installed Dr. Pulley 16g sliders. The reason, and it may be wrong, was that it is very hilly here with no long stretches, so I wanted to have the quick climbing power without the top end. If this was not a good idea please let me know. I also just replaced the rear tire with the Michelin Pure Power Sport SC.... like it so far
Any pointers on purchasing brake pads.. type or where, also clutch in the future. Anything shipped here must come US Mail, it is the only service with domestic usa rates all the others consider us international.

Thanks for any pointers.

May I be the first to say Welcome. My brakes were still the OEM ones when I sold it with 46k + miles. I changed out my clutch at 36K so I don't think you need to worry about them right now. Just ride safe & have fun.

Welcome

The USVI...best place on earth as far as I'm concerned

I used to go there for my "week" off in the early 70's, always told my boss that there were strikes at the airports, and I could not get off St. Croix, so I was able to stretch my "week" off usually onto 18-20 days

Following the tragedy at Fountain Valley, I tried and tried to convince my Dad to buy one of the cheaper than dirt Condo's, alas to no avail :(

So many fond memories, too numerous to count...always based in St. Croix...would take one of the rickety sea planes over to St. Thomas for the nightlife...and one of those hydroplanes out to St.John's or a catamaran to Buck Island to snorkel

Most times just partied till the sun came up  Duty free Johnny Walker scotch was $2.00 a quart back then...I so miss my poorly spent youth :D

Thanks for the welcome guys. It is great riding here on St. Thomas, but being so steep I am hearing the wear indicators on the brake pads. Or at least that's what I think it is.... Love the bike, it is perfect for here and I can ride it 365
