Hi, I live in Highland ,Il ,30 mi E of St. Louis.I am 74, retired and do
Stained Glass for a hobby. I`ve been riding for 60 years and have made
all 50 states on motorcycle.

I also own a red Silverwing that I am trying to sell if you know
anyone interested, E-Mail me at [email protected].

My Burgie has 4400 mi and I dont know it`s history. Came
without any books or records. I would like to get a service
including valves. I did change oil and have a service manual
on order.
It`s late so I`ll sign off for now

Welcome to the forum Don  Congrats on picking up yourself a 650 as well. Once you get some miles on it you're going to have to give us all a true comparison between the Burger and the SilverWing.

Don,

The first valve scheduled valve adjustment interval is at 15,000 miles.
You don't need it yet. It is a very pricey procedure too, I've heard
something like 7.5 hours labor. I would forget about that for now...
Shims hold adjustment real well anyway.

Just be sure that the oil was changed in all three places - not just
the engine. Check the centerstand bolts for tightness too - a couple of
folks have had them fall out.

Hey neighbor!

I'm directly on the other side of the state, sittin' on the Wabash River. I've been looking for an excuse to ride to St. Looie. Let's get together sometime. 8)
