New Burgman 400 Owner...from Canada eh?

So I traded in my 08 B-King for a new Burgman 400 "Limited".....not exactly quite the same acceleration

but insurance here in this province has gone crazy. $200/month for the King and now $38 comes out of my account per month for the Burg. Not to mention the fuel mileage savings.

This one came with heated grips, backrest and a "Limited" decal on the back but cant find anything online about it....must be a Canada thing I guess.

First off, the windshield sucks....which most of you who are 5'9 'or taller already know. When I first rode it home, driving 30-40 mph felt like there was a 40 mph wind gust going on but when I looked at the tree branches standing still, it confirmed my suspicions.
I checked Suzuki OEM accessories the next day and found they actually make a "sport" windshield (which I see nobody here or the other forums has mentioned) which is quite a bit shorter AND tinted. Ordered it that day and hopefully be here next week. In the meantime, complete removal of the w/s was done and that alone made a huge difference.

I'm probably going to get a pipe for it as the stock sound is a bit anemic to me but the Dr Pulley sliders are going to be my next purchase. 18/19G seems to be the weight of choice for performance/RPM drop at highway speeds but as another member mentioned, installing these upside down dramatically increased the performance of this scoot. Any drawbacks to doing this?

There are a lot of Harley/sportbike riders here in this province but I think I'll be seeing more "bigger" scooters if the province wants to keep upping their rates.

Hopefully taking some pix tomorrow if theres some sun out.

Can you elaborate on the sliders? I'm thinking 16G now as our roads are all flat and long and I can use all the extra acceleration I can get. Should still drop RPM on highway tho correct?
And also, will the clutch engage at a higher rpm from a standstill? Right now it seems around 3000.

I'm interested in modifications to make the bike perform better to suit me. I have less than 200km on it and I'm pretty confident I know which areas the Burg lacks.

$54 for sliders is not that excessive....and IMO, the windshield is a must whether its broke in or not.

Yes, I've read thru them....only 1 person has tried 16G sliders and only one comment pertaining to clutch engagement has been mentioned.

Just looking for a broader confirmation.

Well the Germans have the Autobahn so 16G must work good.

No times, but seat of the pants so to speak.

Acceleration from 0 to 50 much better. It also eliminated a sag I had around 35 mph, which was very depressing, because the gearing should be better at that speed.

In the US we have a lot of long flat roads (Indiana). The 18g sliders dropped my cruise rpm by 800. I can now run 70 mph (GPS) 6000 rpm on level terrain.

I would be interested in how 16 g turn out, but I have found the sweet spot for my riding and weight.

Yes I notice that the engine doesnt like cruising at that 30-35 mph speed,
Almost a slight jerking motion.

So does your clutch engage at a higher RPM opposed to stock? Not that it matters much as I think the 16G sliders are what I plan on ordering.
It would just be good to know.
