I never used the key on my 08 400 I just pulled up while twisting counterclockwise, worked like a charm. Finding one for the 650 though would be nice.
+1 me too on my '05 400.

Bought mine today and it seems to work just fine. Now I'll only use my locking cap on overnite trips when it's parked outside at the hotel/motel lot. Thanks for the info!

Rats, they must have fixed it on the 2011. I can't pull up and open mine.

They should have made the door locking not the cap. SUZUKI !!!

I have received a lot of help in this forum so anytime I can help someone else is a pleasure! Yesterday, when trying to unloosen my new gas cap, I had to get down on my knees and use both hands though. But............ at 68, that is to be expected once in a while.

just bought one and napa part is 703-1589 for those also wanting one. about 7 dollars.
THANK YOU!!!!!

This morning's gas fill-up was quite the acrobatic exercise with the key rings, gas cap, and the mini-door....along with a smidge of frustrated rider mixed in.

So found this post, went to NAPA, and $7.50 later am a happy Burgman 400 camper.

Once again, BurgmanUSA to the rescue!

No, not on the threads. The very last piece in the cap has some play and I wedged the piece of hanger in there. The piece you hear clicking is the piece you are wedging. You will see what I mean when you take the cap off and then use the key and lock the cap in your hand.
