Hi, I'm new to the Burman world, but generally a pretty handy sort of guy. I'm replacing the broken mirror on my bike, but I can't seem to convince the wire to unplug so I can put the new one on. It's a bugger to get to. I can't see it very well to see if there's a clip on it or anything. I'd hate to cut the wires and rig it up, but I may not have much of a choice.

You will need a small flat blade screwdriver or something similiar to slip inbetween the two at the raised spot on one of the wide sides where the tab is to pull it apart.

Welcome to our Burgie site. I recommend that you do some searching in the forums for the answer that you're looking for. After all the posts that have come and gone I'm sure that mirror removal has been covered. If you don't find it try an online shop manual and then, if nothing else works someone will certainly supply the answer. This is a great group of knowledgeable folk but they kinda expect us to do our homework when possible.

you can do what the pros do, you will need a strong suction cup and a heat gun

heat the surface of the mirror and it will pop off...

this video of a guy taking his exec's mirror will help:

If you want to remove the mirror assembly all together, you have to remove the handlebar covers and the front panel.

you can undo the three bolts that hold the mirror in place and unplug it from the OEM harness.

I got it! It took a lot of futsing, but eventually it came apart. I just pulled really really hard. Now I just have to get it back together after the long weekend. Too cold here in MN to ride anyway.
