Hello There,

What kind of mileage can one expect from the 650? City and highway. I am seriously thinking about the 400 but maybe could be convinced to buy the 650 if the pluses and negatives lean towards the 650. Gas mileage is one of the issues. Thanks

the 650 gets anywhere from about 50-60 mpg highway depending on speed and 45-50 city depending on how hard on the accelerator you are

I have a 650 with 3,200 miles on it. Best mileage I've gotten is 51, worst is 45. Typically, it is in the 45-47 mpg range (US Gallons). I ride a mix of highway and urban roads, and am fairly heavy on the throttle. I weigh about 235, and have a larger windscreen than stock.

mpg on 650

I've had my 650 about 300 miles so far. Hotrodding around town, I'm getting 45.76. I'm not being "gentle" so far. I did however change the oil at 150 miles and again at 300. I know, I know, not required, but an oil and filter change when an engine is new, is the best / cheapest way to assure a longer life. Time invested, 30 minutes, cost..(for oil and filter) about $18. No biggie. I was really surprised how dirty the 150 oil change was.. Convinced me that it was the "right" thing to do.
