There use to be a final drive lubricant on the market called Lubriplate. Has anyone heard of it? Is it still available? I thought I might try it in my "Banshee" (650) to see if it would stop/reduce the gear whine. Does anyone use it?

My last post refered to the grease they make, Lubriplate is a brand name . When it gets hot, oil seems to ooz from it, so maybe it may work for gear cases. I primarly use it where some oils are used. I do not use it in gear cases, although some have used it there.

Yes, they do make a grease but they use to make a 90w gear oil as well. I guess there isn't enough call for it anymore.
Thanks to all.

Yes, it is a grease. I have a few tubes of it that my father used when working on the railroad as a master mechanic.
grease isn't used in drive trains. use 90 weight gear oil. Eitehr use what the owners manual calls for, or talk to a mechanic on what he would recomend.
