I posted this over in the 2007+ list, but thought perhaps someone who does not read that area regularly might have some insight. Thanks.

"Was just looking for side wind deflectors over at Oneida Suzuki's website (they did not have them listed currently) when I saw a lower seat option for the 2013 400. It was pricey at nearly $500, but if it enabled me to get my feet down better for backing up, etc, it might be worth it. Cary Vincent came down when I first bought my 2011 and determined that the way the newer 400 seats are built, there is no real way to trim it down like he does the older seats - there is less padding and a wider pan now. Anyway, the option I saw today is the only one that appears to be out there. However, it is listed for a 2013. I am wondering whether you all know if the 2009 and up seats are the same as the 2013 so that this lower seat would fit on a 2011. Thanks!"

I have the same problem with reaching the ground. The lower seat option looks pretty nice, although I also covet the heated seat (http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUZUKI-OEM-HEATED-SEAT-BURGMAN-400-2013-/390684519313)

According to the parts guy at my Suzuki dealer, the accessories are interchangeable for the 2007-2013 400's. All structurally identical. As an example, I ordered the 2013 handguards for my 2012 400 because I liked the look of the matte black finish with the bike. They fit just fine and I would assume the seat would as well, but I would check with your local Suzuki parts counter first, even if you don't end up ordering from them.

The seat for the 2013 models are a bit different. I suggest taking your bike to the dealer and then doing a side by side comparison. My visual observation said they were moderately different. Will be an expensive mistake if they do not fit.
