I did a preliminary search and got conflicting info from older threads. Is the "oil level" warning on the 650 a true low oil level indicator or is it a low oil pressure indicator, or are there both?

FWIW, the '03 shop manual shows separate oil pressure and oil level switches (both just on/off switches), and separate oil level and oil pressure indicators on the combination meter. IDK if the later models are the same...

There are both. The oil level indicator is a digital display that looks like an oil can on the upper left under the tach. The oil pressure indicator is a red warning light on the lower right next to where the FI indicator is.

The real, real low oil indicator sounds like a serious engine knock.

I think I have had a couple of those in the past. Not a good feeling.
