In this transition to the new update that amount. Of time allowed to edit a post has dropped from about an hour to only a few minutes. Can someone change that please!

I've been really used to being able to edit a post within a hour after that its set in stone. The main reason for having a longer edit is the ability to make corrections and not endless replies to fix it adding to the thread. I agree with Norman that a time limit is necessary to maintain the timeline of a thread.

Yep, I like being able to edit for a bit. It seems that frequently I hit the post button and even after previewing the message before I hit post, I think of a better way to say something.

How about as long as you like to edit but the right to edit ceases when someone posts after you? It's not right being able to edit after others have replied/commented on your post?
Not a way to do that as far as I know. I can make it longer now though.

Thanks,
Dwayn

Noob reporting in...

I posted a message that had a typo...discovered I was not able to edit it when I went back into it.

Exactly how long is the period of time that a user has to edit a post?

Whatever it is it does not seem very long...

Cheers,
Daryl

Dayrl,
Here is the answer I got when I asked the same question.
I would like to know why there is a time limit on correcting or changing postings. I believe it to be 60 mins. Burgman Riders forum, Kymco forum to name two, don't feel the need to limit the time frame changes can be made. Why here are we limited to one hour?
This system has worked perfectly well here for over 10 years now, to the best of my knowledge.:smile

If a poster wants something changed outside of the time limit they can contact a moderator. The moderator can then review the state of play in the thread and- if no 'damage' would be done by making the amendment (or in fact total deletion if requested)- makes the amendment.

Hope you find this helpful.

Everything is PERFECT here nothing to see, just move along.

I'd like longer .... GTAM has unlimited....makes it easier to add to ride reports etc.

Just cuz it's working doesn't mean it cant' be better.

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
