Saw a couple of 650's pass my house on Miller Ave yesterday. Look like a husband and wife team...each on their own bike.
Just wondering if they're Burgmanusa Members?

I have rode to Lake Placid many times with our group from Port Charlotte. Our favorite restaurant is The Golden Corral. The only thing we like better is Homers in Sebring.cyclechamp1982 said:Saw a couple of 650's pass my house on Miller Ave yesterday. Look like a husband and wife team...each on their own bike.

Well, this was just 2 Burgmans I saw. We get a lot of motorcycle traffic by our place. Today a bunch of maybe 10-12 motorcycles went by the house. I didn't get a look at them, but I recognize the sound of Cruisers when I hear them. IMHO, today would not have been a very good day for riding as the wind was really howling...20mph, gusting to 30mph. There was a severe Lake Warning Alert most of the day. Last Feb there was a LARGE group of Spyders met for lunch at the Golden Corrall. SO many Spyders there was no room for any cars to even get in the lot.[/I have rode to Lake Placid many times with our group from Port Charlotte. Our favorite restaurant is The Golden Corral. We lived for years in the Bowie, MD close to Annapolis and the Bay. I had some friends who were sailors, but I even though I gained an interest in boating, I never was into sailing. When I retired we sold our house and bought a 38 ft Trawler, planning on living on it for at least 5 years or so. We ended up with a cruise that took us to Florida, and after spending a Winter there, and on our trip back to MD we stopped along the ICU (in Florida) for what we thought would be a short visit with some sailor friends we had met. While at their Dock in a boating community called Turkey Creek, a couple of sailors across the canal we had also met, came over to our boat one evening for a visit. We knew they were planning to sail to Europe for a three year stay. They asked us if we might be interested in renting there house and dock while they were gone. My first reaction was..."No way did I want to be tied to a dock for that long!" (We basically had been living on the hook for 90% of the time since buying the Trawler) I had said from the start that I never wanted to be a "Dock Cruiser" like so many "Boaters" I knew. When they lowered the rent to a small figure (lower then any Dock fee) and said would we consider it for a year, I finally agreed. That was a mistake, because by the time the year was up, we had decided to stay in Florida. Short story...we sold the Trawler and built a house in Lake Placid.Marv said:Being a retired sailor I'm surprised there are never any sailboats out on the lake sailing when we ride by.

BTW: You know anyone in Port Charlotte who might be interested in buying a 2011 Spyder RT SM5 AC ? I'd like to sell mine and get another late model Burgman650 Exec. I miss my Burgman 650 Exec![/quote]cyclechamp1982 said:I have rode to Lake Placid many times with our group from Port Charlotte. Our favorite restaurant is The Golden Corral.
