Has anyone replaced their stock handgrips for Kuryakyn Iso Grip? The Burgman is the first bike I've owned that has had weights on the end of the handlebars and I was wondering if anyone has ditched the weights and installed Iso grips. How important are the weights...on a scooter like this, do they make that much of a difference? I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who could bring me up to speed on the subject.

I have a suzuki intruder 1400. I replaced factory grips with these, took out the bar weights, and never noticed a difference in vibration. I'm sure the burgman doesn't have nearly the vibration that my truder does. Two huge power plants make for alot of vibration.

Taipo take a look at my grips http://burgmanusa.com/gallery/My-Custom-Burg-650?page=1 they are longer than the stock and did not see any difference without the weights at the end. With these I got I could put some weights in the grips at the end as they are longer that stock and have space for it. Capt Denny from Florida also has the same grips just shorter, I decided to go with the Kuryakyn after seeing Denny's grips and like the fit and feel of them and of course knowing me I had to customize mine to match my bike color.

grips

Hey Roger...VEEEEERRRRYYYY inpressive. I like what you've done! What did you do to get your front indicator lights to stay on as driving lights?
With regard to your grips. Did you use the 7/8" ones or the 1" ones?
I'm interested in what you did to replace the stock grips you had. I had a set of Kuryakyns with the throttle boss on my Heritage. I liked the throttle boss so I'm looking to install a similar set on the Burgman.

Taipo what I did to make the front indicator work as driving and turn signal lights was I used a set of rear brake & driving light sockets, they are the same size as front socket but of course with dual filaments and switched out with the front and ran a wire from rear for driving light. The hard part was removing the whole mirror assemble to run the new wire, had to as there was no space to feed the wire without taking off the mirrors also I installed switch so I turn them on and off when I want. The size of our stock grips is 7/8 so that is what you have to use as the 1" would be too big and do not know how you would fill the gap if you wanted to use the bigger grips, as for the installation it was so easy just use a blade to slice of the stock rubber and 7/8 is a perfect fit.
