Hey guys,

A happy new year from France.

My 7 has just passed its 42 000 km service and went fine ..

But starting this morning, the key immobilizer lights on all the time before starting it.

It seems to be ''half on'' in terms of light and every 5 seconds it ''light'' stronger... (I dont know if I am clear here)?

That said, when I start the bike, it goes off (as usual) and the bike works great...

I have made a couple of pictures to explain the thing

Questions here:

1) Does anyone know this issue? What can it be? humidity?

2) Where is the immobilizer located?

I am just worried that the light always on drain the battery if I don't ride the bike for more than a week...

Appriciate your help...

Thanks

Could very well be it's got a bit of dampness in somewhere a connector maybe,
I don't think they have a separate immobilizer I think its built into the ecu.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.

So you think its may be an issue with the ECU connector? Looking at the videos again, it might be a ''ground'' issue with one of the connectors.

Where is located the ECU? Under the front fairing?

The ECU is under the dash, I would think but am not sure that the light will be switched
by switching the earth it does not take much to light a led a drop of water between contacts
or tracks on the dash circuit board may light it, It may be something else but it could be
a drop of water or damp in a connector, just moving things about may cure or maybe blowing
some hot air round the area.

Certainly the light on will not drain your battery but something else might be going on that would or cause other issues.
Worth chasing in my view.
