If you have the 650 exec model then you'll have to remove the pillion/passenger back rest. Once that is removed your scoot will be left with three holes in the rear tupperware section & that's where the luggage rack is attached to. If you have a standard 650 without the rear pillion/passenger back rest, then you will need to remove the rear tupperware aft of the seat. Once removed from the scoot -turn that tupperware over to reveal 3 areas pre/parked where the 3 holes need to be drilled. Suzuki supplies the same bit of tupperware for either the exec or standard model, and the markings are there depending on the model, and therefore the subsequent need to pre-drill the required holes ex-factory so as to accommodate the rear pillion/passenger back rest, or not - model dependent.

I do have the 2012 650 exec with the passenger back rest....I was hoping all I had to do was remove that seat and it would fit there....I am guessing the back rest sits back on top of it....hopefully, did not want to loose the back rest for sure....thanks so much for the response....hopefully no drilling will be required......

As bikerdoc indicated if you have a 2012 Exec the there is no further drilling to be done by you.
However you can have a top box mount OR the OEM backrest BUT not both.
There is a option to fit a backrest pad to the top box.

Just remove the passenger back rest, install the new rack and you are done.

If you are looking for visuals reference, check the 929 top box DIY on my burg man center.

Buffalo had posted a few good pics on how tho remove the passenger back rest.

Good luck.

The luggage racks that I have seen for the 650 have a backrest built into them. You can't keep the OEM backrest because the rack mounts in the spot it was located.

Hey Buffalo, I live in Groesbeck, you just right up the interstate from me...small world...
I've been through Groesbeck many times. My older brother lived there for a while. My Mom is from Chilton and I have family spread over a lot of the central Texas area.

I called the place I bought it, they said they would research and try to find me a rack and bike rest. I told them about the one above.....at lease they said I could return the rack if needed, but have to pay restocking fee....they should have told me it was one or the other.....oh well......the one above is exactly what I need, hopefully they will get some more in soon...thanks for the info.
