Seriously. For me, this is the ideal bike. I had 3 other bikes when I bought it, and have slowly sold all of them off over the past 3 years, as I found myself riding them less and less.

I really love this scooter. I'm sure I'll own other bikes before it's over, but I don't think I'll ever be without a Burgman. I've been riding for about 40 years, and owned upwards of 30 motorcycles. I'd say this is my favorite.

Seriously. I'm very cereal.

I had ridden a 1500 Vulcan for 21 years and 250k+ miles when I bought my '03 400 in May of 2011--sold the Vulcan three month's latter. The 400 is much more fun to ride (the Vulcan was nice on the open road, but not so nice putting around), has much more and more convenient storage, and is for my 67 year-old arthritic body a lot easier to handle.

I realised after a couple months I was not riding the big bike anymore and just automatically getting on the scoot when I needed to go anywhere...

They are excellent bikes. 5 years ago, I don't think I would have considered a scooter. But good friends of mine who have been riding for many years suggested I ride theirs. After a year or 2, one bike sold, then my big bike.

The handling and the ease is why I love it. And I don't miss shifting one single bit.

Someone bought a 21 year old bike with 250,000 miles, Oh my god unbelievable!

Interestingly enough, I have had my Burgman 650 Ex for about 4 months. I have ridden it exclusively during this time. Thought I had my V-Strom sold but the guy hasn't been able to raise the cash. So yesterday, I got it out of the garage and rode it. I had forgotten what a hoot it is to ride. Think I am going to keep it as well as my Burgman. Love them both but they are both very different rides. Good things about both.

So, on days that my arthritis allows me to ride the V-Strom, I will probably take it. The rest of the time, the Burgman is what I will take.

I love my Burgman too. I also like variety. I have bought 3 bikes and restored them while owning the Burgman. All 3 were a hoot to ride and fix up but they all got sold and the Burgman has remained. I have been eye-ing my next acquisition...a V45 Magna.
