Last weekend I set out for Sonora. The first stop was at the rail road museum on hwy 12. Anyone wanting to ride needs to show up before 3:30 to ride the ~20+ mile trip down to the Sacramento river. It is an all electric train. I didn't take any pictures, but there are quite a few informative displays in the museum. I didn't know that those 150 wind turbines produce so much electricity ( all 500+ generate enough for 90,000 people).

After riding through Lodi I took 108 through the Stanislaus National Forest to Pine Crest where the trees had just begin to turn colors from Brown to green. A little bit cold as I went up in elevation. Here are a few pictures from Hetch hetchy on the way back.

An amazing feat to dig a tunnel through the mountain. Not certain why.

I was going to ask about the fire damage - we saw lots when it was just over last November.
