How far can you lean on a 400?

I went from a 02 Honda CBR600F4i to a 04' 400 Burgman.
Everytime I take a corner, I am scared to lean over thinking
something is going to touch. On the left side, there 's the big
black cover sticking out and on the right side the muffler is sticking out.
My question is how far can you lean in a corner?

The foot plate on the center stand will touch first.

Yep, I actually scraped it on the ground in a hard lean a couple of weeks ago on a country ride with my scooter club......
Yep...you will scrape the centerstand before anything else. At the rate I'm going, I need to budget for a replacement centerstand.
Thanks for the info guys.

So if I take off the centrestand, I can lean even more?

But it ain't got a centre stand

You aught to be able to. But I use the centerstand grinding as a measure of when i'm having "too much fun".

Probably. But then you'd scrape a body panel next. Maybe LOTS of body panels - if you run out of tire.... An early warning ain't a bad thing.
You may even find one or two bikes out there better suited to hard cornering if that's what you want .
I drag the sidestand foot and the centerstand mounting ear on the left side. The centerstand frame mount is a hard part and WILL put you down. I'm not sure what will drag first on the right side. Anybody? Even with hard parts dragging I'm still not to the edge of the tire.
For all you newbies, if you get into a turn and think you will not make it, don't be afraid to just lean it over more, it will lean a lot more than you think it will and the tires will hold fine.

Thanx
Russ

P.S. Some sportbike guys have had a hard time keeping my pace in the twisties, I always tell them I would have been going faster but I was making a capuchino.
