I didn't like the way the chrome mirrors looked on my white 2012 Burgman 400. I ordered a pair of 2012 Honda Silver Wing mirrors from my dealer for $30 apiece. They are not as wide as the stock Suzuki mirrors are, but I had no trouble at all with my rear vision, even with my wife on back. However, if you are very tall or wide, you may need the mirror extenders for them. The fit is perfect and there is no vibration whatsoever.

I just think the black mirrors look better than the chrome ones do with all of the extra black paint that Suzuki put on the 2012 Burgmans.

I got the idea to use the Silver Wing mirrors from peregrine. They look good on his Burgman, so I thought I would put them on my mine. Thanks, peregrine!

When I had my Silverwing, I read on a forum that the Honda Relex mirrors fit the Silverwing. So I bought a pair - they are the same design but the stalks are about 1-1/2 to 2 inches longer. The extra length made them perfect for my SWing.

While the black mirrors look great on your white Burg, the stock chrome ones look better on my black Burg. Though I have never cared for the mirror adjustment process of Suzuki mirrors.

I agree with you, chrome mirrors do look good on the darker colored Burgmans.

Having owned both new Burgman 400 and SilverWing 600 AND being interested in function rather than how they look.

Both Burgman and SilverWing stock mirror stems are too short when you are dressed up for serious winter riding----I suggest old style Honda CB 750 mirrors from Dennis Kirk---they do the job mirrors are supposed to do part #39-1523 @ $8.99 each.

My Burgman has them on right now.

Timbo64, do you plan to get rid of your chrome ones? I think they would look good on my dark gray SilverWing. You can PM me if you think you may like to sell them. I would bye them if they are at a price I can afford.

I'll send you a PM. They would look good on a dark SilverWing.
I sat on a new 2012 SilverWing at the dealership and I thought it was very nice. I'd have to cut down the seat an inch or so for "real world" use. I love the Burgman 650, but if I were going to buy a large maxi-scooter I'd go with the SilverWing because the physical size of it matches me better than the Burgman 650 does.

I can see your point about use when wearing thick heavy winter riding gear. Not so much with the Burgman ones, but the stems on the SilverWing mirrors are pretty darn short.
As I said, if you are tall or wide you're going to need mirror extenders. Just for reference, I'm 5'5" tall, 160 pounds, 31" waist, and have a 41" chest. I'm short and muscular. However, my 6'4" father-in-law would need mirror extenders, especially if he were wearing some thick winter riding gear.

I'm glad that mirrors come in all shapes and sizes, that way we can all be satisfied!

Those look great!

Now is that black metel or just painted black?

I bet the factory mirrors would look great in black too.

I would be willing to try, just dont know the best way.

They are plastic, but seem to be of very good quality.

Hello Timbo64,

I agree completely with you and I did the same thing with my '12 400 (black/gray) and it improved the total look of this machine. I went a couple steps further and changed the OEM grips to all black Kurakyn ISO's and painted the muffler heat shield flat black to match the muffler. All-in-all...it's better looking (imo) than the OEM counterpart.

Keep both tires on the road,

Don

I'm going to paint the heat shield black-chrome on my 400.
That chrome one sticks out like a sore thumb because there is not one piece of chrome anywhere else on the scooter. I wish it was brushed aluminum from the factory.

Mirrors are to match that, and i don't think i will change them to other finish. scoot looks cheaper and more casual without chrome parts. on the other hand i won't add any more chrome to it either not to get her to a chopper level :D
