Fuel cells use hydrogen and air to create electricity that powers a motor.

The fuel cell scooter is based on a 125cc gas-powered version, and holds the fuel cell stack in its midsection.
So a 125cc engine burns the hydrogen fuel in the fuel cell to create electricity and the scooter is driven by an electric motor? Is that how it works?

The fuel cell and electric motor are installed in place of the reciprocating engine and transmission.
