My riding buddy has had his third highlight bulb failure. There were several bulb failures reported with the 2003 400s earlier. However, this bulb failure leads me to believe there maybe more to it than a simple bad batch of bulbs. I think this because the current bulb that failed was not the stock 35w bulb. It was one of the 55w bulbs the Suzuki dealer used to replace the two stock bulbs that failed earlier. The first bulbs failed somewhere in the 1,500 to 2,000 miles range. He how has about 7,200 miles on it.

Anyone seen these bulb failures?

The bulbs can NOT be touched by human hands. If he installed them using his bare hands, the oils from his fingertips will greatly diminish the life of the bulb. Sometime down to just a few hours. Just something to think about.

That is a possible answer. The dealer his is dealing with is not the best in the world. I will ask him if he saw they install it.
