Hi, I just joined this forum as I am considering buying a used Burgman 400 and thought I'd do some checking. I've been riding motorcycles and scooters for over 25 years now, but as I get older I'm finding that the fully automatic scooters are so much easier to ride.

I've found an '06 Burgman 400 locally with under 20,000 kms on the odometer. It looks nice but may need new front and rear tires. I believe that this is the older SOHC motor but that it does use EFI. I'm not sure what a good price might be though.

This will give you a good starting or arguing point - I looked that year and model up in the Kelly Blue Book for current value when in EXCELLENT CONDITION and being sold AT A DEALER........

"Your Motorcycle Value
2006 Suzuki AN400

Trade-In Value Suggested Retail Value
Excellent Condition $2,925
when purchasing from a dealer

Optional Equipment
Mileage & Condition Information"

Since it is a private sale and already needs 2 new tires (about $150-175) - I would start by offering him about $2,400 or even less.......

It will need a safety check as part of my Province's mandatory requirements prior to getting a plate. The owner mentioned that the brakes are all original so they will likely need service and probably brake pads as well. Tires have little tread depth and need to go.

He has my number and email so we'll see. He upgraded to a Suzuki V-Strom 650 and the scooter hasn't been driven in about a year now. It has been sitting in his shed and a bit dusty.

The Kymco was awesome, but I wasn't able to swing a deal at a reasonable price.

I moved on to check out a 2007 Piaggio X9 Evolution 500 tonight and did manage to make a deal. Should be on the road some time soon once the paperwork is settled.

Pretty nice 650

All dressed up and ready to tour in comfort and ease. Automatic CVT makes traffic painless and the step through design with long floorboards makes for a comfortable riding position. Fully upgraded with Corbin seat, rider backrest, Givi top box, and Clearview vented windshield. Certified with dealer warranty for 2 months or 3,000 km whichever comes first. Plus tax and license. ONLY 32,354KM.

$5500 - not bad considering the farkles tho I think the windscreen is too high - don't like the Givi

and a sharp deal on a 400

Ah happy to help out if you need....might be tough to find a decent machine in Ottawa.
That dealer based one should be very safe as would the 400.
The 400 owner might even be on here.
I could contact and take pics but I'd be pretty comfortable with the 400 as a private sale.

Both should have their sales history certificates and safety. Bigger fish pond down in the GTA

I've just found another 2005 Burgman 400 on consignment at a nearby dealer. It has......1,239 kms on the dial and has been sitting for a time. Starts fine and is covered in dust and spider webs. Asking $3995. Might be a contender.
